剧情简介：
22岁的玛利亚是一个萨尔兹堡的修女院里的志愿修女，但是，她活泼好动和热爱自然的性格却总是让她在修道院里惹麻烦。修女院里的阿比斯院长觉得她这样的活泼的性格不适合僧侣生活，于是，当她接到冯·特拉普上校家寻求看护的请求，她决定让玛利亚去，也借此让她探索出真正的生活目的。
玛利亚到达冯·特拉普家，发现他是一个有七个孩子的鳏夫，长期的海军生活和亡妻的悲伤使他对待孩子像管教士兵一样严格，很快，玛利亚就明白了以前那些看护离开的原因，原来是孩子们得不到父亲的关爱，总是用作弄看护来吸引父亲的注意。
上校要求玛利亚也像他一样严格，但是玛利亚没有听从，而是用她天生的温柔和善良赢得了孩子们的友好。趁上校不在的时候，她用窗帘给每个孩子缝制了游戏服装，带领他们到市场游玩，在美丽的阿尔卑斯山上野餐，还教会了他们唱歌。孩子们原有的拘禁和忧郁渐渐地被音乐和笑声代替了。
不就上校回家了，看见孩子们的转变非常高兴。孩子们更是表演起他们的拿手好戏，逗得上校开心。玛利亚以及孩子们一起唱起了动听的歌。

将军：（惊讶状）Why?What'the matter?
女教师：（摇头苦笑）I have no idea with the children.They are too naughty.I'm sorry.I have to go.Bye!
(将军进门，看见孩子们正在吵闹，管家毫无办法。马上脸色一变，哨声一响，孩子们马上停止吵闹，乖乖地列队，等待父亲的训斥）
将军：（吹哨）Attention!
孩子们：one! two!
将军：At ease! (脸色凝重状）what are you doing just now?The teacher has gone!
孩子们：Sorry!Dad!
大女儿：We don't like her.
其他孩子：Yes!Dad,we don't like her at all.
将军：Shut up!Can't you be quiet?Get our of here,go back to your room and don't talk any more.Attention!Turn left!Go!

场景二：（玛利亚提着行李，拿着吉他，边唱歌，边蹦跳着来到将军家门，敲门。管家开门，将军要求玛利亚像他那样严格要求孩子。孩子们一开始不喜欢玛利亚，并作弄玛利亚）
玛利亚：(提着行李，作失魂状，敲门）Hello!Any body home?
管家：(管家出场，开门，问）Yes! I'm coming!Who's that?
玛利亚：My name is Maria.Is this Captain's home?I'm the new teacher here.
管家：Ok! Nice to meet you.Come in,please.

管家：Captain!The new teacher is here.
将军：(出场，神情严肃地看着玛利亚)
管家：（向将军介绍）Captain!This is Maria.Oue new teacher.And this is Captain.

杀害哈利波特父母的邪魔，名字以V起首，他是谁呢？
《哈利波特》电影中小哈利追问巨无霸海格（Hagrid）自己的身世。海格答道：A few years ago there was one wizard who went as bad as you can go. And his name was V...His name was v...（几年前，有一个巫师走火入魔，邪得无以复加。他的名字是伏……。他的名字是伏……。）
注：海格本欲说出杀哈利波特父母的大仇家，但没有胆量，于是期期艾艾，欲语还休。大家必须记得，省略号(ellipsis marks/suspension points)是汉六英三，即中文用六点，英文用三点。
此时小哈利知道巨无霸不敢说出大魔头的名字，于是提议说：Maybe if you wrote it down.（也许你就写下来吧。）
注：巨无霸没有写，哈利却用Write的过去式。那是惯用法(idiomatic expression)，亦委婉语(euphemi *** )。
女作家罗琳(J K Rowling)写的《哈利波特》小说中，巨无霸海格受的教育不多，因而谈吐豪迈，不拘小节，说的往往不是正规英语。家长指导小孩子读英文原著时宜加留意。
兹举一例，引自第一集八十一页Bloom *** ury版本：Told yeh,didn't I? Told yeh you was famous.
按方法you 字后决不能用was，过去式得用were。他把you说成yeh是发音不准。 J K Rowling这样写是为了凸显海格读书不多。
哈利波特追问凶手是谁时，海格说：No, I can't spell it.（不行，我不懂拼那字。）
罗琳塑造巨无霸海格不但语文蹩脚，拼字也不懂。他只好接着说：Alright, Voldemort.（好，我讲，伏地魔!)
哈利波特听见真凶名字，怔了一下。哈利： Voldemort？（伏地魔?)
原来杀害哈利波特父母的凶手是魔界一流高手伏地魔Voldemort!
心地善良的巨无霸海格恐大魔头听见哈利波特尖声叫出他的名字，立刻劝小哈利别作声： Sh, Sh.（嘘。）
注：Sh是hush的缩略语，示意对方不要张声高叫。
电影毕竟和小说不一样，多了影像声响，观众可以从演员的造型与谈吐体会角色。
编剧导演塑造巨无霸海格的角色十分成功。我们一看就知道他虽然性格粗犷、读书不多，但心地善良、不拘小节。
且听海格怎样告诉哈利波特(Harry Potter)伏地魔(Voldemort)杀他父母的原委。
海格：It was dark times, Harry, dark times.（那是黑暗时期，哈利，黑暗时期。）

注：同学们宜观摩句中片语动词(phrasal verbs)stand up to与end up的用法，翻词典查其他释义，然后造两三个句子，掌握一词多义(polysemous)的用法。
